photocrati galleryDevin has been working with me this summer studying photography and working as an assistant from time to time. Yesterday after editing some photographs together from my recent Michigan assignment with the Iron Workers we decided to take a break and go on a drive to take some photos together. Devin purchased a new sigma 70-300mm lens for his Canon and he wanted to test it. Sigma is rapidly becoming very competitive in the lens market with there new Fine Art lenses, I own 60mm f2.8 for my Sony alpha camera. As it turns out the 70 to 300mm lens is terrific and spot on sharp. It’s fun watching a soon to be tenth grader get excited learning the basics of photography while taking such wonderful images. He reminds me of the Canadian photographer Freeman Patterson, who is also a Presbyterian minister who takes walks with his camera and captures wonderful images from nature. He’s written several books and is well known throughout the world. I think it’s time to loan Devin a few of his books. The first three images are mine and the remaining 5 are Devin’s.
