The Fisherman

I traveled to Connecticut to photograph a wedding on the beach and as always I got up early in the morning the day of the wedding to check out various scenes for possible photo compositions and backgrounds. and as I turned and glanced behind me there was a gentleman with a fishing pole on his shoulder. He was obviously as startled as I was during the quiet overcast morning. I imagined he was either retired or worked hard during the week and was out for a relaxing fishing trip at the Oceanside. I quickly captured the image.

It was in post-production that I decided to paint this image with acrylics being careful to preserve the detail in the Benjamin Moore paint bucket he was holding. I imagined he might have been a painter.
