Creative Portraits

Mosaic Press is one of the leading printing and publishing firms on the east coast. I’ve been associated with them for years through my photographic work with many of the Unions. This is the first assignment that I worked directly for Mosaic and it was, to say the least, very creative and fun. I set up a portable portrait studio with the idea of capturing very natural images that are to be used for publication to the web and print. We started with coat and tie and then went right down to shirt sleeves. I used a Nikon D800 with three different lenses; a 105mm f2.2 Defocus, 85mm f1.4 and a 50mm f1.4. Nebojsa Brankovic, a very talented photographer in his own right, assisted me by setting up portable Nikon flashes and a toned background. We usually travel very light, one or two bags at most.
